This unique and wonderful beach is the pride of Kerala as it is known as one of the loveliest beaches in the world. It is a sheltered bay and is loaded with unusual natural god given beauty. Kovalam's sandy beaches are lined with palm trees, lagoons and rocky coves. Kovalam consists of three crescent sunny and sandy beaches. The southern most which is known as the Light house beach is the most beatiful and thus the most popular of the three. Kovalam is one of the major tourist attractions of Kerala. Kovalam, is filled with restaurants and bars, most of which serve, delicious sea food and typical south Indian cuisines. Kovalam is also a world famous center for Ayurvedic treatment. Many hotels in this city offers a complete health and rejuvenation health packages. Best time to visit this haven in Kerala is around December to March. Kovalam has the distinction of being Kerala's most developed beach resort. With each passing year more numbers of western and local visitors have started to arrive in search of sun, sand, sea and palm-fringed beaches.

Kovalam has been popular with Europeans visitors since the early 1930s, but not until couple of decades back when hippies started to colonize the place hotels were built. As the resort's popularity grew, more resorts and health spas have started to bud. Now Kovalam accommodates most of the global visitors in search of calm, quiet and rejvenation coming to Kerala.

The Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, and Central Rail and Bus Terminals are just 30 min. away by road.

Aruvikkara:
There is an ancient temple here dedicated to Bhagavathi, built on a rock on the right bank of the river.

Agasthyakoodam:
This is a prominent peak in the Sahyadri ranges and is conspicuous for its height and isolation when seen from a distance. For about 2000 feet in the line of the range, it rises up in the form of a sharp pointed cone.

Beaches:
The place is filled with the most wonderful beaches any visitor is supposed to find in India.
