Kovalam
beach is situated at just 10 kms away from Thiruvananthapuram. This
unique and wonderful beach is the pride of Kerala as it is known as
one of the loveliest beaches in the world. It is a sheltered bay and
is loaded with unusual natural god given beauty. Kovalam's sandy
beaches are lined with palm trees, lagoons and rocky coves. Kovalam
consists of three crescent sunny and sandy beaches. The southern
most which is known as the Light house beach is the most beatiful
and thus the most popular of the three. Kovalam is one of the major
tourist attractions of Kerala. Kovalam, is filled with restaurants
and bars, most of which serve, delicious sea food and typical south
Indian cuisines. Kovalam is also a world famous center for Ayurvedic

This is a prominent peak in the Sahyadri ranges and is conspicuous for its height and isolation when seen from a distance. For about 2000 feet in the line of the range, it rises up in the form of a sharp pointed cone.
